My research is exploring the history, and cultural practices of the Chicano Punk Scene specifically in East Los Angeles. I want to explore what makes this particular scene distinct from the Anglo punk scenes of London, New York, and Hollywood. While there are some aspects of the Chicano Punk Scene that incorporate traditional Mexican sensibilities, there are also members of this scene that wish to be influenced by their current cultural surroundings rather than be defined by their race and nationality.
